A platform where the coach defines the statistic.

Log a game play-by-play and read the full box score, shooting charts, lineup data and advanced efficiency. On top of that, define your own events, weight them, and get one number that measures your standard of play - for a player, a five and the team.

From youth selections to senior first-division teams - and the business league on Tuesday nights. Same arithmetic at every level.

Built around the coach standard

Everything is scoped by team, season and competition. You set the roster, write the custom events and their Index weights, then log games play-by-play - live on the bench or afterwards from video.

You can add teammates and observers so they follow the same results, stats and analytics without changing your events or weights. The Index only moves when you tag the customs you defined - defaults never feed it.

1 · Set up

Create the team, season and competition. Add players. Define custom events: name, acronym (up to 4 letters), category and a signed weight. Invite the people who should see the numbers.

2 · Log the game

Put five on the floor, then tag defaults and customs quarter by quarter, including overtime. Two- and three-point attempts take a zone on the half-court chart.

3 · Read the numbers

Everyone you brought in can open the same game and season views - team, each player and each exact five: box score, advanced rates, Four Factors, shot chart and the Index.

What you get

Everything below works for the team, for each player and for each exact five on the floor - on one game, or a whole season as totals and per-game averages.

Play-by-play engine

Seventeen locked default tags plus your own, Q1-Q4 and overtime. No camera tracking and no league feed - you tag what happened.

The full box score

Points, shooting splits, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, fouls, plus-minus, valuation (VAL), possessions and every custom-event count.

Advanced efficiency

PPP, eFG%, TS%, ORTG, DRTG, NRTG, rebound rates, turnover rate, AST/TO, AST% and steal rate - beside the Index, not instead of it.

Shooting charts

Twenty-five half-court zones for your team or the opponent, with overall, two-point and three-point views.

Lineups, not pairs

Every exact five that shared the floor, with its own box, its own rates and its own Index. No pair or combo shortcuts.

Season and history

Every logged game rolls up. Filter by season and competition; open a player or a five and read their game log.

The Hooplytix Index

A box score counts what the rulebook counts. It cannot see the extra pass, the closeout, the defensive rotation - the actions you actually build a team around. So you write those events yourself, give each a weight, and the Index is their weighted sum.

Formula: HI = Σ (times tagged × weight). Only custom events contribute. Defaults fill the box score and add zero to the Index. Tag nothing custom and the Index stays empty.

HI = Σ (count × weight)

Worked example

Extra pass +2, deflection +1, bad closeout −1. A player logs 5, 4 and 2 of those: HI = 10 + 4 + (−2) = 12. The same arithmetic applies to a five and to the team.

EventWeightCountContribution
Extra pass+25+10
Deflection+14+4
Bad closeout−12−2

Custom events

Each custom event has a name, a short acronym (up to four characters), a category, a signed Index weight (positive rewards, negative penalises; tenths allowed) and an optional description. Weights belong to that team and season.

Seventeen locked defaults

2PM, 2PA, 3PM, 3PA, FTM, FTA, OREB, DREB, AST, TOV, STL, BLK, BLKA, PF, PFD, SUB_IN, SUB_OUT. They build the box score. They never move the Index.

Analytics you can open

Game overview: Four Factors (eFG%, turnover rate, offensive rebound %, free-throw rate), team vs opponent, points by quarter, score momentum, points distribution and the half-court chart. Season analytics: team, players and lineups, basic or advanced columns, totals or per game.

On the next timeout

Tag during the game and the numbers are there at the next timeout and at half-time. Or tag afterwards from video - same log, same Index.

Teammates and observers already follow the workspace with you. A shareable link for live tracking is next.

Seasons, event definitions and every logged game stay under the team, season and competition you chose.

What's live today

The platform is in production: team, season and competition management, inviting teammates and observers, the play-by-play engine, box score for team, player and lineup, twenty-five-zone shooting charts, Four Factors, season dashboards, player and lineup profiles, and the Index. Clubs are logging real games and telling us what to fix.

Still ahead: an AI analyst over the same data, and a shareable link for live tracking.
